課程概述 |
The course will consist of a total of 18 hours, split into nine sessions of two hours each. The course will be on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon, according to the tentative schedule of the syllabus. Nevertheless, the schedule is very flexible according to the availability of the students and the service. The course is open to students of all departments, but, in principle, is restricted to a maximum of 8 students in the following categories:
a) Japanese translation (2 Students):
- Assist with the translation of Japanese assistive technology information
(Any student who understands Japanese is welcome. In the beginning students will come to the association’s office near the Dong Men MRT station but later they can work at home on their own.)
b) Switch Training Game Software Translation (2 Students):
- Assist with English/Chinese translation of special software for disabled children
- Assist with English/Chinese translation of the operating instructions for the
special game software.
(Any student who is interested can help in this area, but especially suitable would be students from foreign language departments and those interested in writing software. In the beginning students will come to the association’s office near the Dong Men MRT station but later they can work at home on their own.)
c) Administration Work and Adapting Special Switches and Toys (4 Students):
- Assist the association to update its website content
- Assisting with management of the associations technical
documentation
- Adapting special switches and toys for use by disabled children
(Any student who is interested can help in this area, but especially suitable would be students from foreign language departments and those interested in some basic DIY electronic work. In the beginning students will come to the association’s office near the Dong Men MRT station but later they can work at home on their own.)
The above topics will be conducted under the guidance of Mr. Kevin Gallagher (葛凱文). He is a Scottish engineer working part time in the Hsinchu Industrial Park. He also designs low cost computer devises for disabled people and has also implemented a home evaluation service for severely disabled people all over the Taiwan.
