本課程旨在針對《淮南子》的哲學思想及思維架構進行整體的探究，並釐清《淮南子》思想在中國哲學史發展上的地位。《淮南子》成書於西漢，該著雖非一人之作，但大抵以道家思想為主體，尤其富含對於《莊子》思想的詮釋。本課程將包含兩個主軸：一方面透過分析《淮南子》，了解西漢思想的一個側面；同時也從詮釋的角度，探討《老》、《莊》在漢代如何被加以詮釋及運用。
This course aims to investigate the philosophical thought in Huainanzi, including its way of thinking and its status in the history of Chinese Philosophy. The text of Huainanzi consists of a collection of essays written in Han Dynasty. Although these essays were written by different scholars, there are certain main ideas that run through the whole text, especially ideas regarding the interpretations of Zhuangzi. This course will include two key aspects. One is to display some specific dimensions of the philosophical thought in Han Dynasty. The second is to explore how the scholars in Han Dynasty interpreted and applied the thought of Laozi and Zhuangzi to politics.
