課程概述 |
本課程為研究所程度的心智哲學導論課，無需修過相關課程。
何謂心智？何謂意識？心智哲學涉及的哲學問題繁多，課程將集中探索心智與意識理論之基本架構：心智與意識兩者的本質為何？它們與物質世界的關係為何，在其中佔據一個怎樣的位置？如何建立有關心智與意識的哲學或科學理論？
課程論及的心智理論包括：同一性理論、隨附性理論、二元論、行為主義、功能主義。
課程論及的意識理論包括：表徵主義、高階意識理論、整合訊息理論。
本課程亦會探討感質問題（the qualia problem），以及其對某些心智與意識理論所構成的衝擊。
本課程將以David Chalmers所編之心智哲學經典選輯Philosophy of Mind: Classical and Contemporary Readings為主要課本，並輔以Susan Schneider & Max Velmans 的The Blackwell Companion to Consciousness, 2nd Edition。每週將閱讀2-3篇心智哲學經典文章或文章摘錄，總頁數通常為20-25頁（約相當於排版較小之書籍之25-30頁）。

本課程的目標如下：
（1）讓學生掌握各種心智與意識理論。
（2）引領學生對現今的科學世界觀進行反思，思考自己在宇宙中的位置。
（3）關注哲學與科學的對話。 |

課程要求 |
每週將閱讀2-3篇心智哲學經典文章或文章摘錄，總頁數通常為20-25頁（約相當於排版較小之書籍之25-30頁）。
同學需完成指定閱讀，並於課堂中進行討論。 |
