課程概述 |
The seminar deals with some selected samples of critical theory: from the works of Adorno, Benjamin, and other prominent theorists and critics from Europe and America. Students are encouraged to read in the original but Chinese translations can be substituted. In addition, we will be "practicing" cultural criticism by viewing films, art works, architecgural exhibits, listening to music, watching performances (details to be arranged). Students are required to write short critical articles, plus a final paper or creative project. About one third of the course will be devoted to theory; the rest to practice, including writing. |
