課程概述 |
The course offers an overview of the characteristics, causes, warning system, and responses towards several natural hazards. The scope of the discussion covers meteorological hazards e.g., typhoon and heavy rain, flood and geological hazards. In addition to the effects of natural hazards on a society, impact assessment and adaptation strategies are introduced. |

The course aims to introduce the forecast and warning systems, as well as impacts and responses to natural hazards in Taiwan and other Asia-Pacific countries. |

課程要求 |
1. 學生應先預習各週指定閱讀篇章，以利上課聽講。
Participants should preview the required reading articles each week before classes.
2. 學生應於每週課後複習該週講課PPT檔案，以充分吸收。
Participants should review the PPT files given with the lectures after class.
3. 學期報告題目應和本課程主題相符，另外，同學應重視上課出席。
Participants are supposed to attend each class. Besides, the final presentation should relate to the topics in this course.
