課程概述 |
This course will be a field-based course that aims to provide training and experience of assessment of geologic hazards in the field for both undergraduate students and graduate students. Knowledge that equivalent to Geologic Hazard Assessment (I) will be a plus, but not required. Generally this class will involve field work in a specific area that has several different types of geologic hazard potential. This field work will generally last for about 2 weeks, and will likely be joined by a group of foreign students. Thus this class will be offered in English. Specific topics of the field work include GIS software applications, geomorphic and geologic mapping and data collecting, as well as the determination and interpretation of potential geologic hazards such as earthquakes, landslides, debris flow, and flooding. The students are required to join the field trip and finish a written report of the field work. The grades will be determined by the participation of the student in the field and the content of the report.
