Course Description |
This is an intermediate macroeconomic course taught in English. This course will mainly teach the neoclassical framework: (1) neoclassical growth theory, and (2) neoclassical business cycle. We will go through both theory and data to see how macroeconomists answer economic questions.
This is a flip course, meaning that we will have students watching lecture videos online and have some discussions during class time (the last hour of class time). |
Course Objective |
Students will learn the microfoundation of modern macroeconomcis and specifically on intertemporal tradeoff of a dynamic model. |
Course Requirement |
An introductory economic courses, e.g., Principles of Economics, an introductory calculus (freshmen level), and basic algebra. |
Student Workload (expected study time outside of class per week) |
In addition to the lecture time, a student would need to spend 2-4 hours per week on study and doing exercises. It's necessary to review the class material. |
